People’s Stories

“Why I know God heals today”, by John R

I don’t know why every person who prays doesn’t get healed but I do know that God healed me.  Here’s what happened.

For some years I suffered from recurring migraines; every time the weather changed resulted in a blinding headache.  In England that’s often!

It so happened that we moved from the UK to Zambia which is in central southern Africa.  The weather was very different – eight to nine months completely dry and a three to four month period of rains.  I’m not sure if it was because of the more stable nature of the weather or the fact that Zambia is three thousand feet above sea level, however, the fact was that my migraines ceased all the time we were there – six years.

When we returned to the UK the really bad headaches immediately started again every time the weather changed.  As you can imagine, I was imploring the Lord to get rid of them for me.  In the summer, I attended a big church event in a marquee and a chap was preaching and then praying for folk to be healed of various things.  One of the things he said God wanted to heal was migraines.  I actually had a thumping one going at the time and shot up out of my seat thinking “I’m not going to miss this!” and went to the front of the meeting for prayer.  As I walked forward I could feel my headache receding.  When the preacher put his hands on my head and prayed for me I felt the bones in my head move and click into a different position.  From that moment on – apart from the odd, very occasional, mild headache with a cold – I have not had another migraine and that is some years ago now.  So I’m convinced – if God did it for me He can do it for you!

“Jesus Followers” a new book from Christain Green

The spirit of sisterhood is seen and felt in the fervent prayer of thousands of girls who faithfully uphold nations where injustice and darkness rage out of control. It is seen and felt in young women being inspired by the wisdom and grace of their mothers and the women ahead of them in this journey of life.
